The Johnson County Mental Health Center is currently recruiting for Adolescent Center for Treatment (ACT) Supervisor (Manager II).  The Adolescent Center for Treatment is a substance use disorder, residential treatment program located at the Youth & Family Center in Olathe.  The unit has 24/7 operations and typically individuals stay in the program for up to 28 days. The ACT Supervisor would provide the supervision to the Direct Care Staff assigned to work at ACT. This position would provide coaching and support to the staff, assist with floor management and client movement, and coordinate with families/state workers/law enforcement during times of medical and behavioral health emergencies. This position would collaborate with the Program Manager and the clinical staff to ensure consistency from the residential floor to the clinical supports provided throughout the week. The work schedule is:  Sunday – Thursday: 2 pm – 10 pm.  First review of applications will be on June 5, 2024.

Job Description

Job duties includes:

  • Provides Leadership and Direction to Direct Care staff.
  • Maintains uninterrupted coverage of the unit, provides guidance and direction to staff; authorizes changes to the client schedule; assigns duties to direct care staff as needed.
  • Provides 1:1 client supports and crisis management; coaches and trains on PBS implementation and client reinforcements.
  • Collaborates with Clinical staff on managing and intervening with client behaviors and behavioral health needs.
  • Reviews staff charting for accuracy, completeness and compliance with program guidelines and licensing standards.
  • Models professional behavior and skills to direct care staff; coaches (PPD's) and assists with staff on areas for growth.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work or relevant field; two (2) years’ experience working in behavioral health or relevant field; flexible availability, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

 

Education can substitute for experience, experience can substitute for education.

 

Master’s Degree in Social Work or relevant field; one (1) year leading, directing, supervising or coordinating the work of others; and licensed as an addiction counselor or other relevant mental health license preferred.

 

Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.

All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments/agencies in a declared emergency situation.
