Johnson County Wastewater is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Treatment Assistant Superintendent. This position supervises staff and coordinates with other supervisors to ensure the operation and maintenance of their assigned wastewater treatment plant. This position works in a team based industrial environment with a mission of protecting the environment, serving our customers, and enhancing our communities.
Location will be Middle Basin Plant and the shift will supervisor 1st shift employees.
Job Duties include:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required along with five years of experience in mechanical, maintenance, or relevant industrial or field based work required. Preference given to experience in a water or wastewater environment.
One year of experience leading, directing, coordinating, or supervising the work of others and one year of experience in the operations and maintenance of a wastewater treatment or collection system is preferred.
The successful candidate will need a valid driver's license and good driving record. This safety sensitive position involves work that will require lifting of 50 pounds and exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, chemicals, heights, loud noises, and sewage.
An Associates degree in Environmental Sciences or related field is preferred along with a Class IV KDHE Wastewater Operators License.
Education can substitute for experience.
