Johnson County District Attorney’s Office is looking for a qualified applicant to fill the position of Assistant District Attorney II or Assistant District Attorney III (Based on Experience). The position is located at 150 W Santa Fe St., Olathe, KS 66061.

The duties of the Assistant District Attorney II or Assistant District Attorney III will include:

Salary Ranges:
Assistant District Attorney II: $50.61/hr - $75.91/hr
Assistant District Attorney III: $57.55/hr - $86.32/hr
Minimum Job Requirements:
Assistant District Attorney II:
Juris Doctorate, active Kansas license to practice law, and three years of prosecution experience is required. Experience
having served as lead counsel in at least 10 criminal jury trials, 30 criminal bench trials, or some combination thereof is
required. May require KS/MO driver’s license.
Assistant District Attorney III:
Juris Doctorate, active Kansas license to practice law, and five years of prosecution experience is required. Experience
having served as lead counsel in at least 15 criminal jury trials, 30 criminal bench trials, or some combination thereof is
required. Demonstrated ability to engage criminal justice community and community-based agency partners through service
appointments to projects, committees, training cadres, workgroups, etc is required. May require KS/MO driver’s license.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Assistant District Attorney II & III:
Demonstrated ability to engage criminal justice community and community-based agency partners through service
appointments to projects, committees, training cadres, workgroups, etc is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in specialized area of prosecution is preferred.
Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria
may vary by Department/Agency.
Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
May be required, as needed, to handle physical evidence, which may include weapons, biological materials, etc.
Will be exposed to photos, videos, written reports, and other materials that may be disturbing.
May be required, as needed, to work additional hours during times of jury trials and on-call.
