Johnson County Developmental Supports (JCDS) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Health Supports Assistant for their nursing division. JCDS serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We focus on individuals’ abilities, provide choice driven supports, and advocate alongside people to live and work in our community. We aspire to build a community that promotes, supports, and embraces people of all abilities. Health Supports Assistants (HSA) play a vital role in supporting the coordination of our individual’s medical appointments and follow-up care. HSA’s act as a liaison between the individual’s physicians and circle of support. Many of the daily tasks in the medical department are dependent on the efficient communication and performance of the HSA's. First review of candidates will be Friday, January 24, 2025.
Minimum Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience working in a human services or medical field are required. KS/MO driver’s license and good driving record are required.
Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Experience in the IDD field, DSP, CNA, CMA or LPN.
Education/Experience Substitutions:
Education may be substituted for experience.
Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
Lifting: requirement varies by assignment.
Exposure to hazardous materials (bodily fluids).
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation
