Johnson County Library is seeking applicants for the role of Branch Services Clerk to work in the Southwest Region (Gardner, Lenexa, Edgerton, and Spring Hill). The Branch Services Clerk position is responsible for the processing and placement of materials in library branches in alignment with the systemwide Materials Handling and Circulation standards and procedures. This position handles transactions including checking in and out materials, shelving, and troubleshooting damaged, mistmatched, and missing materials. Minimum Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in a materials handling or stocking environment are required.
Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year of experience in a library and one (1) year of experience providing customer service are preferred.
Education/Experience Substitutions:
Experience may be substituted for degree. Education may be substituted for experience.
Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
Lifting weight: up to 40 lbs.
Excessive standing and/or walking: 75% of the time
Shift Work: mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
Employees will be expected to work at any of the branches within their region, as needed.
Occasional exposure to weather and temperature changes including hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions.
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments/agencies in a declared emergency situation.
