The Business Operations Division of the Facilities Management Department is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Technician. This position will provide essential administrative support for the successful execution of capital projects. It will work closely with the team to ensure documentation is managed effectively, and all operational procedures are followed. 

Job Description

The successful candidate for this position will be highly adaptable to changing needs, possess strong decision-making and multitasking abilities, and demonstrate exceptional communication skills. They should be detail-oriented and capable of resolving complex operational problems while recognizing and implementing process improvements. A foundational knowledge of accounts payable and project reconciliation is essential, along with the ability to research and apply best practices and new technologies. Additionally, the candidate should be proficient in creating and maintaining databases, generating reports, and developing complex spreadsheets. Success in this role requires both teamwork and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight. First review of applications for this position will begin on March 17, 2025.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain filing systems for project documents
  • Review and reconcile project financials to provide monthly reports
  • Provide variance reporting on project financials to identify data discrepancies
  • Create and maintain standard project documents
  • Monitor all purchase requisitions associated with capital projects

Job Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • One year of administrative support experience

Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions.  Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.

 

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in project management or related field.
  • One year of project support experience.

Education/Experience Substitutions:

  • Experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Education may be substituted for experience.

Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:

Administrative work is performed in an indoor office environment. All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments/agencies in a declared emergency situation.
