Johnson County Mental Health Center (JCMHC) is seeking an exceptional leader for the position of Deputy Division Director within the Emergency Service Division. This position will be responsible for fostering leadership growth, program development, and innovative practices for JCMHC’s Open Access, 988 Suicide and Crisis Hotline, and Screening and Assessment Teams.

• The 988 Crisis Team consists of a Team Leader, Call Specialists and Clinician Leads who answer calls 24/7/365 from the 988 Suicide and Crisis Hotline as well as Johnson Counties local crisis line. Current program development and innovation opportunities include:
• Building capacity to answer 988 texts and chat
• Developing a 911 diversion option from county and city dispatch centers utilizing the crisis line
• JCMHC currently has two Open Access Teams located in Olathe and Shawnee. These teams consist of Team Leaders, Clinicians and Case Managers. Open Access serves as the “front door” to services at JCMHC. Current program development and innovation opportunities include:
• Deliberate review and improvement of processes to achieve BOTH easier access for our community and increased employee wellness
• Future expansion of Open Access services at new locations within Johnson County
• The Screening and Assessment Team provides a variety of level of care interventions 24/7/365 supporting local hospitals, Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center and Juvenile Detention Center. Current program development and innovation opportunities include:
• Expanding assessment support for the recently opened Youth Crisis Stabilization Center and the soon to be opened Adult Crisis Stabilization Center

Johnson County has implemented a skill-based pay plan of up to $4200 annually for staff who have obtained licensure by the BSRB at the Clinical Level.

 Application review will begin on June 11th.

Additional duties include:

•  Plans, manages, and develops administrative and programmatic solutions for recurring problems with a focus on the highest quality clinical services; Providing presentations and trainings to JCMHC and our community; solicit stakeholders’ input and feedback including consumers, staff and community; attends occasional state meetings and trainings to be aware of state expectations and standards of car in community-based work; develop administrative and programmatic solutions for recurring problems with a focus on quality clinical services; provide guidance for compliance with state, local and other contract standards.
• Provide oversight and consultation on fidelity to evidence based and emerging best practices; provide clinical training and supervision; develop ways to assure effective and efficient management of the Division programs and team; ensure performance standards are met and develop performance improvement plans.
• Improve key performance outcomes by redesigning tasks, procedures and processes; determine performance outcome standards in conjunction with Executive Team; determine shared work goals among teams; review outcome data and trends, and ensure teams are knowledgeable on the collection and use of performance and outcome data; Embracing the use of data to show that key performance indicators are met, to ensure resources are being utilized efficiently and to advocate for resources as needed.
• Assist with hiring, training, retaining staff, and growing leadership; identify ways to recognize and reward efforts and accomplishments; determine staffing requirements to ensure consumers needs are met; attend and conduct team meetings for each team supervised; serve as a resource for conflict management and consumer or family complaint resolution.
• Assist teams in the provision of services including crisis intervention and consultation; participate in peer and other quality review processes to ensure appropriate clinical interventions and services are used.
• Collaborates with the state of Kansas and other governing entities attending to standard of care expectations and compliance standards. This role will afford the opportunity to advocate and influence practice expectations in how best to support those we serve and our employees; Builds and fosters relationships with key community partners to include first responders, hospitals and schools.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Addiction Counseling or other relevant Human Services field; Kansas Behavioral Sciences licensure at the master's level in the area of focus; six (6) years of clinical mental health experience in the area of focus; three (3) years leading, directing, supervising, or coordinating the work of others; two (2) years experience in community mental health or relevant experience and a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.

Kansas Behavioral Sciences licensure at the clinical level in the area of focus preferred.
