About the Opportunity: Developer Analyst III

 

The Department of Technology and Innovation is seeking a Developer Analyst III — a collaborative, forward-thinking professional eager to make an impact through technology. In this role, you’ll help design, develop, and deliver modern applications that power the services making a difference across our community every day.

 

You’ll work with a team that values creativity, teamwork, and continuous learning, using the Microsoft .NET Core stack to build custom solutions and connect systems across the organization. This position offers a hybrid work environment (home base within the Kansas City metro area) and the chance to contribute to meaningful projects that support the public good. First review of applications will begin on December 1, 2025.  

 

What You’ll Do

 

As a Developer Analyst III, you’ll:

  • Lead and contribute to the analysis, design, development, and maintenanceof complex applications.
  • Collaborate with teammates to plan, schedule, and deliverhigh-quality technology projects.
  • Analyze and enhanceexisting systems to boost efficiency and support evolving business needs.
  • Develop robust applications within the Microsoft .NET Core stackusing frameworks such as MVC, WebAPI, Entity Framework, and Blazor.
  • Build integrations and interfaces that connect business users with third-party systems, extending functionality and improving workflows.
  • Partner with users to understand needs, explore solutions, and provide trainingthat bridges the gap between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Manage and configure IIS environments to ensure applications run smoothly and securely.

Job Requirements

What We’re Looking For

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of professional experiencedeveloping applications or relevant technical experience.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on development experience with C# and .NET Coreusing Visual Studio.
  • Familiarity with PowerApps, PowerAutomate, and GraphAPIfor workflow creation and automation.
  • Proven ability to deliver custom and hybrid solutionsfor both off-the-shelf and fully bespoke applications.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 cloud ecosystemand related tools.
  • Strong communication skillsfor collaborating with business partners and explaining technical concepts clearly.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server, including T-SQL queries and database management.

This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work environment with both onsite and remote work.  Residency within the Kansas City-Overland Park-Kansas City, MO-KS Combined Statistical Area, which generally includes the Kansas counties of Johnson, Wyandotte, Leavenworth, Miami, and Linn, and the Missouri counties of Jackson, Clay, Platte, Cass, and Ray, is required.

 

Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions.  Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.
