Johnson County Mental Health Center is looking for candidates to fill the role of an Employee Experience Manager in their Prevention and Community Relations division. This position leads and oversees employee experience functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, training, engagement, and retention for JCMHC. Additionally, this role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and evaluating programs and processes that ensure staff have the structure, resources, and support needed to perform effectively and advance within the organization. The Employee Experience Manager engages with department leadership to assess and refine employee experience strategies, ensuring activities align with organizational standards and promote professional growth across the workforce. First review of applications will be on December 2nd. This position will start on or after December 21st, 2025.

Job Description

Additional duties include: 

  • Provides leadership and oversight for recruitment activities, guiding the team in developing and implementing outreach strategies to attract and engage prospective employees; ensures recruitment efforts support organizational goals and can be adapted to changing workforce needs.
  • Supervises the design and delivery of onboarding processes, including development of onboarding plans and training schedules for new staff and student placements; oversees practicum logistics, ensuring coordination and support for student and intern experiences; ensures new employees receive a welcoming and effective introduction to the organization; monitors onboarding outcomes and adapts processes to meet the needs of diverse employee groups.
  • Directs the planning and management of employee training and development programs, including oversight of training plans, Relias LMS administration, and maintenance of the course catalog; supports curriculum development and facilitation, monitors training plan status and attendance, and evaluates the effectiveness of learning opportunities; ensures staff have access to ongoing professional development opportunities and adapts development initiatives to meet evolving organizational and staff needs.
  • Leads efforts to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture by developing engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and activities that build staff connection and appreciation; develops strategies to strengthen staff connection, appreciation, and sense of belonging, while remaining responsive to feedback and organizational priorities.
  • Supervises and mentors the Employee Experience Team, setting clear expectations and providing guidance for team priorities and workflow management; aligns team activities with organizational objectives, manages workload distribution, and encourages collaboration; uses data and feedback to assess program impact and recommends adjustments to support staff development and organizational goals.

Job Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Public Health, Communications, Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or relevant field  and four years of experience in four (4) years’ experience in staff development, training, employee engagement, recruitment, human services or relevent field is required.

Education may be substituted for experience. 

Requires a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. 

 

Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions.  Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.

 

Preferred Job Requirements:

Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Public Health, Communications, Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or relevant field.

Two (2) years leading, supervising or coordinating the work of others.

 

Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:

All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
